Tattoo Cultural Design
I wrote a post on Is Tattoo Just A Body Art or A Cultural Sacred Design and this has been my most popular post as many people are interested in tattoo. There are 2 main reasons as to why people decide to get tattoo, as for some, they only see tattoo as a body art, the canvas is on the human body, a very fascinating concept to me. I don’t have a tattoo, but I do see the beauty in tattoos and this type of tattoo is more popular amongst women and very popular in Japan from what I have came across.
Tattoo Cultural Design

Ajarn Noo does 2 types of tattoos, and both are cultural sacred designs. The first is at the very beginning of the video where the designs of the tattoo is invisible, but the main purpose is to gain wisdom, possess power of kindness as he uses a special ointment of varnt (special roots from plants), the process of Sak Yant is exactly the same as using black ink, in this case a very sacred design.
Another is the sacred design that deemed to possess magic power of protection; he puts Monh (magic) of prayers inside the design, which I believed was written in Pali, Sanskrit. Thai Temple tattoo of Sak Yant (photo on right hand side,) which is geometrically designs that deemed to possess magic powers of protection is very popular amongst Asian warriors, such as the Thais, Laotians, and Khmers in the old days and still very popular today.
There are other designs such as the lion (Singhto), which is a symbol of bravery and cunning. Thai men would choose a tiger design, not just a picture of a tiger but tattoo their body to look like tiger, many have had designs that covered every square inches of their body. The reason for the tiger design is that Thai people, especially the Lanna, believed that their ancestors were once tiger, therefore to show respect and in remembrance of their ancestors, they’d choose the tiger design. Another popular one is the hanuman, which is the Hindu monkey god, which is to protect against illness, against being shot, against being cut, and to give courage.
A photo below, a young monk has a tattoo of prayers added to his back at Wat Bang Pra, Thailand.

Canvas Tattoo
When choosing a new tattoo I would like to propose that you think twice about getting the new piece on your back. Why not a back tattoo? Well there is a difference between a back tattoo, and a tattoo on your back. If you are thinking of getting more tattoos at a later date, you want to save your back since it is the only flat canvas your body provides.
Any tattoo that you get on your upper shoulders or even a tramp stamp will greatly limit any potential back tattoo. Full back tattoos usually run from the shoulders all the way down the back to below the ass cheeks, creating a stunning first impression and since it is a flat canvas the viewer is instantly drawn into the design.
Full back tattoos do however take a lot of time and dedication. Expect to sit anywhere from 20-100 hours depending on the intricacies of the selected tattoo design. Black and grey pieces will of course take much less time then a full colorback tattoo, but to each his own.
There is always a chance that your existing tattoo might be able to be worked into a full back piece or even covered up. Certain things are not easy to work around like tribal designs, which may require you to get some laser work done before starting a full back piece.
I myself have made the mistake of getting a tattoo on my back before taking the time to think about what I really wanted there. I still haven’t decided on a back piece design but I can assure you once I do, my existingback tattoo will be covered so I can use the entire canvas.
Tattoo Ink
Getting a tattoo can be an exciting adventure on that gives one inspiration for creating a unique style of their own. What some people never think about is what is in their ink? Tattoo inks are made up a variety of different items. Tattoo artists often make their own inks creating their own color and styles.

Tattoo Ink
Tattoo inks were originally created from items found in nature making color variations minimal and often less vibrant in color than today’s inks. Today, inks can be found in an unlimited number of colors and pigments. One of the most common types of tattoo ink pigment is acrylontrile butadiene styrene, or ABS plastic. Titanium dioxide, iron oxide, carbon black, naphthol derivates are just a few of the other items used to make ink pigments. Pelican ink or India ink are known for being used by amateurs and tend to be less vibrant in color than inks containing ABS.
Because tattoo inks are customized by the tattoo artists, regulating these pigments can be extremely difficult. Cosmetic tattooing is left primarily up to state regulations. If you are considering getting a tattoo it’s important to know your artist. You have to understand where and how they get their inks. Far too often people do not consider the risks involved with tattoo inks before getting there tattoo. Risks of infection, allergic reactions, granuloma, and keloid formation are only a few of the complications that can be the result of tattooing. The chemical make up of ink pigments can also play a role in how easily a tattoo is removed. Homemade tattoos and india ink are often easier to remove. So before your ink, please consider the risks and know where your tattoo inks are coming from.
Colors of Tattoo Ink
There are different ways to remove tattoo ink. Tattoo ink removal can occur by working to fade away the appearance of the tattoo from the surface of the skin. Or a different approach to remove tattoo ink works within the skin, by breaking apart large beads of ink logged in the skin into smaller ink particles that are removed away by the body naturally.
Colors of Tattoo Ink
Laser tattoo removal works to remove tattoo ink using the second approach of breaking apart ink in the skin. Laser tattoo removal uses beams of light energy to pass through the top layers of the skin, in order to target a particular tattoo ink color within the skin. Lasers only able to target certain colors, and are not effective at removing all tattoo ink colors. Some tattoo ink colors are too similar in color to skin tones, making them difficult to detect and target for removal.
WreckingBalm® tattoo removal works to remove tattoo ink using both surface fading and within the skin approaches. Wrecking Balm® works to remove all tattoo ink colors. Wrecking balm removes tattoos on the surface of the skin, as well as by working down lower in the skin to break apart large tattoo ink particles into smaller pieces that are removed by the body naturally.
Lasers work particularly well to remove tattoo inks professional tattoo artists have tattooed, as the ink is more apt to be at the same depth in the skin. All black tattoos remove well with lasers because the ink is such contrast to skin tones.
Examples of tattoo ink colors lasers are not easy to remove with lasers are green, yellows, oranges, and some red inks. However WreckingBalm® works well to remove these tattoo inks because it is not targeting a specific color it is removing all colors.

The Latest Obama Tattoo
The Latest Obama Tattoo
There comes a time in everyone’s life where we’ve all thought of doing something crazy, something out of the box like getting a tattoo. Well, it’s happened; someone has officially gotten an Obama tattoo on their leg.
What exactly were they thinking? Ok, so they may like Obama, but what are they going to think of him in 4 years? Will he still be an extremely popular President, or will the tides turn? No one really knows that answer, but the thought of having the President tattooed on your leg forever seems like a sign of potential regret. Imagine what the President will look like when the gentleman turns 60? Ok, maybe we shouldn’t go there.
